Ann Machado’s staffing business took a turn for the worse in recent weeks. She blames Wall Street and Washington.
We’ve had “just non-stop cancelled orders,’’ Machado said. Clients starated backing out of agreements for more temporary workers at about the same time that Washington’s debt-ceiling debate stalled, and continued as Wall Street melted down in recent days.
The common refrain from clients: “Please tell my temp I can’t keep them because of financial reasons.”
